Who We Are

We are a team of Quantity Surveyors who provide construction cost consultancy services to a wide range of Clients who include homeowners, self - builders, Architects, Engineers and others involved in the building industry.

We utilise up to date cost databases and tender indexes to produce accurate cost estimates before the building process has begun so the likely cost of construction is known before too much money is spent applying for planning permission or engaging with contractors. 

As a dynamic practice, established in 2009, we provide both pre & post contract cost control services and assist homeowners, self - builders, Architects & other design team members by ensuring that projects are completed within budget by monitoring the construction phase of the project ensuring Clients money is spent correctly.

  • Budget Estimating & Cost Planning

    Preliminary Estimates

    As Cost Consultants we advise Clients on the estimated construction cost of construction projects, at any stage.

    We provide a comprehensive estimating & cost planning service in order to control expenditure, and ensure Clients receive value-for-money in both design & construction phases.

    We work collaboratively with our Clients, design team colleagues and contractors to manage this stage of any project, no matter the scale or value. We can assist the design teams with relative costs for alternative systems of construction & keep the Clients fully informed of all cost implication of alternative design changes.

  • Value Engineering

    Value engineering is a methodical approach to achieving the required design at lowest cost without comprising quality, performance and reliability. There are many reasons why unnecessary costs creep into design for example, misunderstanding of required performance or out of date specifications and construction methods.

    We analysis and determine the most cost effective methods of construction to ensure that the Client gets the best possible value and ensuring that the design meets the performance required.

    Tender Documents, Contractor Selection & Appointment

    Providing both precise and comprehensive tender documentation including Bills of Quantities for our Clients is one of our key services. Accurate measurement of quantities is essential to ensure the documents produced contain every item of work to be undertaken. This allows our Client to compare tendering Contractors on a comparative basis.

    Following on from this we can assist, advise and oversee the tender process and subsequent contractor appointment. Standard or bespoke Forms of Contract ensure our Client are safeguarded at all times and can advise Clients on the most appropriate contract to implement for any type of project.

  • Cost Control

    Post Contract Administration & Project Management

    Our team is pro-active in controlling costs at once your project has begun on site. As cost consultants we advise on matters likely to affect the project budget and programme, particularly in relation to variations, additional works, delays, extension of time, acceleration or disruption. Our post-contract cost control management is constructed around controlling the potential sources of changes and variations; pre-assessment of the cost and programme effects of potential changes before they are made and agreed sign-off procedures between all of the parties. We provide our clients with detailed Cost Reports and Cash Flow Projections during the construction stage to ensure that our clients are at all times informed of their financial commitments.

  • Reinstatement Valuation

    Bespoke Rebuiling Estimate

    A Reinstatement Cost Assessment (or Building Insurance Valuation) is an assessment to determine how much it would cost to rebuild a building should it be destroyed, such as in the event of a fire or collapse. This figure enables you to insure the building for the correct amount.

    If the sum insured is too low you may find yourself accountable for any shortfall. If it is too high you will be paying a higher premium than required.

    With our experience we are able to assess properties ranging from commercial units and factories to retail spaces and listed building.
